Openings for Technology GRAs . . .

The College of Law Technology department is hiring GRAs for the 2012 summer semester.  Technology GRAs report to Yolanda Travis, Help Desk Manager, and assist with Help Desk incidents and classroom technology requests.

Technology GRAs requirements are as follows:

  • The student must have previous customer service skills and proven troubleshooting skills.
  • The student must have completed the first year full-time program. (or Dean’s approval)
  • To be eligible for a tuition waiver the student must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credit hours during the fall or spring semester or 6 credit hours during the summer term.
  • The student cannot take an academic overload during the semester of employment.
  • The student cannot serve as a student assistant or any other employment category in another department or college except as a research assistant during the semester of employment.

Technology GRAs should be available to work 9 hours during the weekdays between the hours of 8:00 am to 9:30 pm.  To apply for this position, please download and submit a completed application, resume, and your anticipated Summer class schedule to Yolanda Travis by Friday, April 6, 2012, in UL628.

Emily Diffenderfer Joins the College of Law IT Department as College Website Coordinator

Emily is a seasoned web and communications professional with experience working with non-profits.

She joins the College having most recently worked with the High Museum as their Website Content Coordinator. Emily will oversee the college’s web presence and its microsites, collaborating with the communication department, College DBA, designers and content editors.

We are excited to have Emily join the College of Law community.


Summer Technology Help Desk Team

We are happy to share the College of Law Help Desk Team for the summer semester will be Robert Dukes, Leah Lewis, Brian Thomas, Renee Thompson, and Kalpin Shah.
The Law Help Desk Team assists with first level technology support (and making sure that they are routed to the appropriate personnel as needed). Yolanda Travis manages the operation of the Help Desk, which is staffed with our new and returning Law Student Technology Assistants.

New Instructional Services Specialist

The College of Law has added an Instructional Services Specialist to its core technology staff.
The Instructional Services Specialist will assist the College of Law’s Web, Network and Desktop Support team in promoting instructional technology initiatives at the College.  In addition to getting the word out to faculty, staff, and students about new technologies as they are implemented at the College of Law, the Instructional Services Specialist will develop training materials and conduct workshops for faculty and staff on a variety of software in use at the College of Law.
